LEGO MADNESS

When you visit the Lego Store at Disney (our birthday boy requested nothing but Legos this year and wanted to pick them all out himself on his big day) and return from your trip with days of Spring Break left, you have a bit of Lego madness in the house...
This one is not Lego, but he received a fun money folding book and some crisp dollar bills from Gramma for his birthday, and he wanted a picture to show her:

DISNEY 2019 (DAY ONE)

Now that it's been a few months, and photo story albums have finally been completed, it's time I get a subset of the many photos we all took on vacation into some blog posts!

Day One:
Resort Day, and Raglan Road dinner and Lego Store shopping for the birthday boy at Disney Springs

HOME SICK

Since we came home from Florida with the flu still in the house (James was on the mend, and I was mostly over it, but Jay came down with it during the drive home Tuesday), we all took Wednesday off work to rest and recuperate. By Thursday, Cora and I went to work, but the boys stayed home the rest of the week. You can get a surprising number of crafts and Lego sets completed in a few days at home, and the kids used their creative minds to entertain themselves while housebound.
Since we were solo at work, I forced Cora to run with me on my lunch break Friday. I thought she did a great job and we finished a good 3 miles with Michelle (who took our picture):

LABOR DAY LAZIES

We had planned to camp down at Fontainbleau State Park this weekend (we camped there once before during an ice storm and declined to stay a second freezing night, so we've been itching to go back ever since), but the pouring rain and potential for flooded campsites kept us home. We tried to keep the kids outside as much as possible anyway (despite a good bit of rain at home too) and they ended up spending almost an entire day playing with our across the street neighbor, so that was cool. Lots of yardwork, bike riding (both solo, with the neighbor kid, and following mama and/or daddy while we ran), and Lego play.
(Making homemade shower bombs with the new essential oils Jay ordered)
(Lazy Lego play...)
(Skyping with Grambot and PawPaw)
(Putting up the Ninjaline slackline)
(Trimming small trees and bushes that were in the way of the new swing)
(Showing us how strong she is)
(Riding bikes at work while mama and daddy ran, just after a storm blew through)
(Posing for mama after riding up and down the driveway a million times, then bravely riding around the neighborhood - well, to the stop sign - all by themselves!)

YOU WIN SOME, YOU LOSE SOME

The good news is, the kids PLAY with their Legos. All the time. The bad news is that their creations are ALL important and ALL OVER THE PLACE upstairs. Also, the kittens LOVE to steal heads and other tiny pieces and throw them down the stairs (bounce, bounce, bounce in the middle of the night), then bat them all around the kitchen.
Yes, we are cleaning this up (at least the floor, anyway) before Gramma gets here next week (but it's been a good 6 months run of insanity upstairs in the landing!) And no, this isn't even all of it (there is an equally messy computer room to the right of this photo...)

SPRING BREAK 2018

The kids spent their Spring Break with Gramma again this year and really enjoyed getting a break from the rigors of school and sports and Scouts (yes, they're now old enough that they actually need and look forward to a break in their busy schedules a few times per year).
(OK, not a full break from sports... they went to "Finishing Friday" to work on goal shots)
