GATES ETIQUETTE FIELD TRIP
The GATES kids went to a local nursing home this morning to perform whatever they desired (so naturally, James got up and did some beat boxing...), then went to a multi-course lunch at Cedar Grove Mansion. When I picked James up from school he told me he had "TWO lunches AND a dessert!! And the butter was shaped like flowers. I don't know why."

BOOKSHELVES BUILT BY JAY
And the finished products in place!
(Jay is going to build a custom frame for the scratch-off map Jamie got us for Christmas, and we'll need to raise it, obviously, but this bookshelf is ready to be filled with photography and travel books!)

SCOUT SERVICE DINNER
Pack 7 provided a free dinner to local emergency responders tonight as part of a service project. We had members of the police, sheriff, and fire departments stop by (they received signed plaques as thank yous from our boys), and many meals were pre-packed and delivered as well. It was a great experience for the kids and we hope to advertise better next year to attract more of our local folks.
COOKIE BOOTH
This year the girls prepped for our cookie booth sales by creating handheld signs and posters. It wasn't "bling your booth" fancy, but they were involved and proud of their work, so I was pleased.
(Cara Beth was having a rough afternoon, but Cora and Baylie convinced her to join the group after some discussion and a group hug)
(James teamed up with Cara Beth and Ruthie's little brothers to create a "boys sign")
And then we spent 5 hours selling cookies the next day...
(James was a very good helper, until daddy rescued him after soccer ref duty)
(OCD baby likes her cookies set up a certain way. We just left her to it while the moms handled the exchange of funds.)
