Jay and I had our first opportunity of 2016 to split the kids up for some one-on-one time with each of us today. James attended a friend's birthday party in Jackson, followed by some adventuring and shopping with his daddy. Cora attended the Girl Scout event put on by the Society for Women Engineers (where the girls rotated through 6 stations doing various science experiments), officially checked in our Pinewood Derby cars (competition is tomorrow!), went to the Chili for Children cook-off, ran some errands with mama (and earned some new beads for necklace making), and ended her day with swimsuits and water balloons (due to the 70-something degree temps).
Cold after the shower and sporting daddy's robe
Troop 3315 sparkle shirt and Trefoil clip - check
Launching Alka-Seltzer rockets
Milk swirls and lava lamps
Gumdrop molecules
Polymer lesson with a Ziploc bag of water and a pencil. Cora's hypothesis was correct, but only because her pencil placement was off ;-)
Building a water tower to withstand earthquakes and tornados
Sitting pretty with McKinley and Cara Beth after the event
Cora and her car, Pink Flash (we'll get Jay and James pictured with their cars tomorrow)
Chili for Children fundraiser: chili for mama, slides, bubbles, and tattoos for Cora
Ready to get James with her water balloons
Talon's 6th Birthday Party at Chuck-E-Cheese
Pretty sure we'll be getting James a punching bag for his birthday...
Checking out the spillway: cleaning up trash (without being asked) and building a shelter for animals. We love his nature-loving spirit!
