(And her reaction was priceless... she kept on screaming for about 20 seconds, until I looked at her, pointed at my muffs, and said "I can't hear you". And James chimed in with an "I can't hear you either Cora!", after he told me he could still hear the screaming and I had to tell him to tell her that he couldn't. Complicated for a 4-year-old. Anyway, Cora pouted and crossed her arms and gave us the "Uh!" attitude. So we just ignored her and eventually she calmed down and I let her out of time out. This girl...)


(In Coltin's defense, he has a puppy at home. I have no doubt that if James had a dog, or even if he could watch the cats eat - their food is kept in the tool room with restricted access - he'd have learned this trick long ago.)
