BEACH BOUND

This morning we left Bend (which was warm, sunny, and gorgeous!) and headed through the pass (constant rain) over to the coast (where there was also rain, and cold...) We made a pit-stop at the top of the pass, at the Pacific Crest Trail, to switch drivers (I get nauseated on curvy, hilly roads) and take pictures of the cool flowers. And to let Cora stretch her legs...

Once we hit the coast we had a couple hours to spare before we were allowed into the rental house, so we went straight to the beach where the kids happily chased the waves, danced, threw rocks, and built sand castles and islands. It was cold, and Cora ended up having to be stripped naked and wrapped in my jacket due to blue lips, but we had a lot of fun and it was a great way to start off the family reunion at the beach (while we waited for the rest of the party to show up)!

After the beach we headed up to the house (a block from the beach access) and jumped in the hot tub to warm up, then explored the rest of the house (which had an awesome game room in the basement). Don't mind my (as usual) nekkid kiddos...

CYCLE PUB!

The final wedding event this weekend was a trip on the cycle pub! Well, two cycle pubs, to be exact, since there were 30 of us in the group. Picture this: coolers filled with beer cans, 15 people per bike drinking and pedaling together to move the 6000 pound cycle pub around downtown at 1.5 mph to visit 3 different brew pubs. It was awesome. Many pictures to follow...

Pabst to start the trip out right!

Each cycle pub had a driver, a sober person in charge of steering and breaking the vehicle

First stop? 10 Barrel Brewing Company

 Second stop? GoodLife Brewing Company

This particular beer was called "Sweet Ass" and it was yummy
Cheers to the newlyweds!

Last stop? The Crux Tasting Room

Hops trellis out front
View from the bar... LOVE the view from just about anywhere in Bend!
Ni-night Jenny, we love you!!

Rather than drive home after the party, like we did from the wedding, we had dad drop us off and pick us up (and yes, about 20 of the other 28 cycle pubbers were beyond jealous that I had my daddy available for post-pubbing driving duty). Cora was passed out already, but since dad and mom needed a break from overnight kid snuggles, we scooped her up and took her and James back to our room. Sure was an early night for us all :-)

MORNING AFTER HIKE AND THE HIGH DESERT MUSEUM

Starting the day with kid smoothies from the coffee hut, complete with whipped cream on the straw

Somebody didn't make it to the museum...

This one didn't either. (Cool horse sculpture, right?)

Everybody is awake and ready to explore just as mama and daddy need to leave for the Cycle Pub...
