Cora attended her first (of hopefully many - this was an inaguaral year!) daddy/daughter dance tonight, put on by the WES Castle Club (our ERDC coworkers). Al and Lauren came over to pick up Jay and Cora (they carpooled), so I had the chance to take some group photos. The girls looked absolutely beautiful (and they knew it - they loved those sparkly, swirly dresses!) and the guys were handsome as I've ever seen them (the splitting grins looking at their daughters surely played a part!)
She surely felt special getting all dressed up to go out on a date with her daddy!
Will's poor car seat was covered in glitter as soon as I buckled her in... And then they were off! After such a long day already (soccer double-header, then the birthday party), I worried for their lasting power, but I hear everything went great and both girls partied right up until the end!

Cora had her priorities: candy first, then dancing.
Jay took lots of photos for me, but the low overhead lights combined with flashing disco/party lights and constantly moving Cora made them mostly blurry. I'm posting some anyway because they're too cute not to.
Another blonde kindergartner showed up in the exact same dress. And they loved being "twinsies".

Jay came home with lots of stories and lots of videos (some of which are added below - fair warning, there is a good bit of girly squealing and Frozen singing, but Cora is adorable, so it's worth it). Cora loved the candy "bar", she didn't eat any pizza, she enjoyed meeting the "princess" (Miss Warren County, our local beauty pageant queen), she danced with ALL the other girls (Jay said he was super proud of them all because nobody was left out, not even the little bitty girls) and knew quite a few moves to different songs (there's one you'll all recognize...), danced with her daddy (the fancy disco/party lights mesmerized her though, so she spent a lot of her time near the DJ doing her own thing, with lots of ballet moves thrown in), danced with Mr. Al and Lauren, dressed up with the dress-up cart items, posed for more photos, belted out Let it Go with all the other big girls during the finale, and made sure to grab two of everything on her way out the door (balloons, bags of candy, and lollipops) so she could share with James (and she earned major awesome little sister points for that, let me tell you!) Jay had a great night (he's a sap - he loved watching his daughter dance and sing, and seeing all those proud daddies smiling from the sidelines and taking videos) and we know Cora will cherish these memories forever!
While daddy and Cora were dancing, James and I did some activities of his choice: swinging, pizza, Redbox movie, ice cream, and eating on the couch (not allowed usually, so that made it special).
We're definitely doing well on our "more one-on-one time with the kids" goal this year!
