Cora used her Christmas money to purchase an American Girl doll that she'd been eyeing for a couple months. She chose Tenney (the country music singer from Tennessee - they all have a backstory!) because she had the longest blond hair (with curls) with brown eyes (like Cora) and freckles (because they're cute). I'll admit, she's a beautiful doll, and Cora really seems to love her (she even talks to her, for her, and about her in the third person, which has taken some getting used to...)
(And she's already talked Jay into building Tenney a bed, because she's a big girl and too old to sleep in the cradle, and a "wardrobe" to hang her outfit changes in...)
