MEETING SANTA

We took James to Zoolights tonight at Micke Grove Zoo. The zoo was covered in lights and kids. There were arts and crafts, free hot chocolate and cookies, wagon rides, nocturnal animals (James especially liked the big "cat" - the mountain lion that was pacing in his cage), live music, and of course, photos with Santa. We bundled James up in his Santa hat and super warm blanket from his Grandma and spent an hour enjoying the festivities. Here he is with his Grandpa and Grambot:
He wasn't scared of Santa at all. The whole evening he was very quiet, just taking everything in (except when he saw the mountain lion, then he was trying to sit forward in his stroller and talk to the "kitty"), watching all the kids, and checking out the lights. Santa thought he was adorable AND attentive:
We couldn't get him to smile because he was just too interested in everything (and everyone), but at least we got him to take his eyes off Santa long enough to glance at the camera:
We were out past his bedtime (especially if you take into account the time change from Mississippi), so he was exhausted by the time we got home:
We're so glad we went. We all had a good time and ended up with some pretty cute photos. And don't worry Grandma, we're sending one of the "professional" Santa photos your way!
