Our first morning at the beach house started with a quiet walk around the neighborhood:
(See? I told you James always wanted to be with his Uncle Davey!)
It was foggy every morning. But I like coastal fog, so it was nice.
After naptime we headed over to one of my favorite places in Bodega Bay, the Tides Wharf! I have SO many great memories of this place growing up. We used to camp out at Bodega Dunes multiple times each summer, and the highlight (other than playing at the beach and hiking in the dunes, of course) was always visiting the Tides for seashell souvenirs, lunch, and bay watching. We treated James to a "shiny seashell", sourdough bread nibbling, gull chasing, deck running, and boat viewing.
On the way back to the house, we did a little sightseeing. Cora fell asleep in the car, but James got to face the wind at Bodega Head and watch the waves crash on the big rocks and through the arch. He was impressed, but a little nervous.
The next morning, the boys laid claim to "Bompa/Paw-Paw's" shoes.
And read some books with Daddy/Uncle Jay.
And climbed the stairs. And climbed the stairs. And climbed the stairs. Have I mentioned that there were 4 sets of stairs at this place? Irresistible to toddlers...
Addy had a sink bath. And she loved it!
The end table (minus the fragile glass top) made for a great magnet toy sculpture base.
Margie got a chance to love on Addy.
Then we hit the beach for some fun in the sand!
Again, it was very windy, but that didn't stop the boys (and Cora) from having fun!
She thought the sand on her toes was very interesting...

Addy hid from the wind, but I snapped a Bacon family photo anyway.
James chased the gulls some more...
Margie ended up knee-deep in the waves while chasing after a fearless Tyson.
Eli and James were not so fearless though, and had a great time running AWAY from the waves!
Even though Barry tried his best to get them to join him...
After a warming bath back at the house, James requested even more fresh air out on the deck.
Then he and Eli teamed up to tackle Grambot!
After the littles went to bed, Barry helped me "cook" some smores over the gas stove (which was mostly successful - we had some melted marshmallow hit the stove top, and some burnt on the outside yet cool in the middle marshmallows find their way between the chocolate and crackers, but they were YUMMY):
