In addition to all the hours spent watching the kids' extra rehearsals over the past two months, this year's recital preparations included an invitation to help set the stage the night before dress rehearsal. We had NO IDEA how much work went into the behind the scenes phase of recital prep, and what we helped with didn't even include all the costume and music decisions, choreography, prop construction, painting, and program planning... We helped load everything into boxes at the studio, moved it over to the city auditorium, unloaded it, and set it up, with the biggest (most time consuming) tasks being laying out, "jumping the marley", and taping it down, and hanging the two backdrops and rigging the two maypoles. It was a long night, but also a lot of fun!

And because recital prep continues up until the moment that recital begins, our contributions also included program folding and dressing room set up and monitoring.
