We popped up to Davis this evening to see the Sanchez family's new house and have dinner with Sophie, Manu, and Leo (Alex had a last minute work trip and was out of town this week). Sophie grilled chicken and shrimp for tacos, eaten al fresco with the Delta breeze blowing through the backyard while the kids played in the sandbox and bounced on the trampoline, then we took a quick ride (well, walk/run for Jay and I without bikes!) up to a nearby playground before heading home (with two very tired, sleeping children in the backseat...)
