BIG KIDS ON BIG BIKES

Between vacation and parties and rain, we haven't had a chance to get the kids out to the park on their new bikes yet, so today was the day! We made it out before the storms hit, then ducked over to the pool to cool off before the thunder rolled in and we headed home to rest.
James took right off with complete confidence! The 24" bike doesn't faze him in the least.
Cora was much more nervous (hence the elbow and knee pads she dug out of the bin before even agreeing to go along on our adventure), so Jay hung back with her a bit and helped her get her bearings, then I took a turn reminding her how to push off and pedal strong. There were a bunch of falls (though she mostly caught herself before hitting the ground) and a couple curb bumps (and a few tears), but with our patience and her practice, she was smiling big by the time we went back to the car (and had made it a solid stretch without so much as a wobble, giving her a huge confidence boost). Way to go Baby Doll!
(Those bikes look huge, don't they? James can get moving really fast now!)
