On the way to Lassen, we stopped by Burney Falls (a resupply on the PCT, so we saw a couple long-distance hikers). The park was really crowded, but only up top. Almost nobody walked all the way down to the base of the falls. It was a short, steep walk, but it was COLD down there because of the mist! Even the lone Mallard we saw was hiding in a clump of grass to avoid the spray! I did see a new bird down there... Black Swifts! They were FAST!
