OREGON CAVES NATIONAL MONUMENT

July 7, 2006 (3 miles)
The two claims-to-fame at Oregon Caves are the Big Tree (the Douglas Fir with the widest girth in Oregon, 40ft girth) and the deep root (a Douglas Fir root, from a different tree than the Big Tree, that peaks at 20ft underground). To see both, we did the cave tour and the cliff trail. After such a big, deep day (ha ha), we went out for a fancy dinner at my most favorite restaurant, Cucina Biazi in Ashland. Then, to top off the night, we hung out with Robyn and Stephen again (it's been a very good week)!
