PETRIFIED FOREST IN MISSISSIPPI?

We've lived here almost 7 years now, and even though we sent my family to the nearby Petrified Forest the first time they came to visit in 2007, we've never been. We decided that the kids needed to get out of the house and RUN (they've been at home a lot over vacation due to rain and/or cold temps), so we took them for a hike and ended up having a really nice afternoon exploring the trail and letting them climb and run wild. We'll definitely be going back. I wonder if they'd allow Strider bikes out on the trail?....

Doesn't this look like the perfect place to ride bikes off road?...
The kids each picked a souvenier from the gift shop (because they'd just received some Christmas money from their Aunt Margie and Uncle Daryl). James chose a little carved stone skull and Cora went with a flashy rhinestone necklace in the shape of a flower. She cracked us up trying to get a good look at it while wearing it...
