MCKINLEY'S SWIM PARTY

One of Cora's Girl Scout Daisy buddies turned 6 today and we (Tagalongs are almost always included by Girl Scouts!) were invited to help her celebrate with a swim party at the YMCA. Who's ready to go SWIMMING?!
The kids had to wait patiently for the lifeguard to start and finish swim tests before they could get in
The kids have only swam once this year (well, once since August, actually) when Jay took them a few weeks ago, so I had no idea how they'd do on their swim test (to be allowed to swim in the deep end). They both lined right up behind Asher (one of my running buddy's kids), anxious to get started. I had to laugh when it was James' turn though because he stepped back and told Cora to go first. She flung herself right in and swam straight across without touching bottom, and he followed suit as soon as she climbed out the other side. I guess swimming is like riding a bike, you just always remember the basics?...
All those kids to play with (many whom they know from Scouts or dance or the YMCA childcare or Daycamp) and yet they stuck together like glue...
McKinley had a Paw Patrol themed party, and the kids were thrilled with the "Puppy Chow", Scooby Snacks, and "Chew Sticks". Not to mention the ice cream cake... Good thing mama didn't care about sugar today, since they'd already eaten a large amount at the egg hunt!
McKinley is one of the sweetest little girls I know (and one of the cutest)! We hope she enjoyed her birthday party as much as we did!
