James had a tough decision to make tonight. Does he like the green beans, or not? After the first bite, he shook his head, pulled away, and made a really funny face. We figured it was just the shock of such a different (and less sweet) taste, but we thought we might be in for a fight...
But then he immediately opened up for more:
And bite #2 brought on another bad face. When I paused to give him a little time to process, he got impatient with me and reached for the spoon:
He ended up eating every bite, even though he made a yucky face after every single spoonful. We just gave him the one cube. Then he had carrots to balance the meal. It was so cute to see him recognize a food he really likes vs. the one he just finished that must have been merely tolerable. He smacked his lips and hit the top of his tray, lunging forward and demanding more. Our boy already knows what he wants! Then we gave him Sophie for desert...
