Oh my. 5 months? 5 MONTHS!? They say time goes even faster with your second baby, but really? Has it seriously been almost half a year since this little sweetheart joined our family?...
So, what's up with our Baby Doll this month? 
Well, after a 2.5-week-long battle against sleep due to her ear infection, she's back to sleeping like an angel. She even naps well at home (though not at daycare, at least not usually). And yes, she still has to be swaddled to sleep. I keep joking that we'll be swaddling her until she enters kindergarden, but my aunt one-upped me. She joked that someday Cora's husband will have to hold her tight all night long to keep her asleep - hee hee! At night, we're squeezing her into the Miracle Blanket (she didn't do well with the Woombie Big Baby when we tried it this weekend, so I have no idea what we're going to do when she really, truly outgrows the Miracle...) For naps, we let her feet dangle free, but swaddle her arms tight with one of those Kiddopatamus velcro-type wraps, and stick her in the swing. It's the only way she'll nap longer than 20 minutes. In fact, she's notorious at daycare for only taking "princess naps" (short enough that they don't even bother to note them on her daily report card).
She REALLY loves bathtime now. She even splashes (BIG splashes - look out!) and grabs her toes. She's all smiles until it's time to put her pajamas on...
She's babbling and squealing more and more, though she's still pretty silent more often than we expected (she even lays quietly in her crib when she wakes up in the morning - it's kinda strange). We're starting to call her our "quiet observer". She's very focused on people and will look you right in the eyes. She especially adores other babies, and her big brother. She's a big fan of HERSELF these days too (not that she knows it's HERSELF that she's seeing in the mirror, but she sure does love that pretty baby girl...) Oh ,and she's great at raspberries and drooling (though there are still no teeth in sight).
She still eats 6-7 times/day. She nurses first thing in the morning, noon-ish, before and after (and/or during) dinner, and at bedtime. The 2 bottles she gets at daycare are small. She'll barely drink 2 oz at her 9:00 feed, probably because she sleeps until 6:30/7:00, so it's usually only 2 hours between her "breakfast" and 9:00 - though if you don't give her that bottle at 9:00, she sure gets mad. She will usually finish her 4 oz bottle at 3:00 though. That's honestly the most she's ever had in one sitting, though that makes sense for her if I calculate out her estimated ounces/feed on KellyMom.com's milk calculator for breastfed infants. On the weekends she always demands an extra nursing session or 2 (or 3) during the day, so she keeps me busy! The dinner/bedtime cluster feeding is decreasing though. She now only demands to eat twice at "dinner" time, then nurses herself to sleep an hour and half later. I'm just enjoying the ease of only nursing when we're together while I can, since the introduction of solids is on the horizon next month already...
What else, what else?... Rolling and tummy time? Well, she still dislikes tummy time, thus she RARELY rolls from front to back. She likes floor time though, and spends lots of time playing on her back and rolling from side to side to grab toys (and toes). She hasn't made the flip yet, but that's fine with me. If she's still being swaddled at night, I'd rather her not know how to flip to her tummy (it just seems like a bad situation to get stuck on her tummy while her hands are pinned at her sides, know what I mean?) She is already learning to sit unassisted though - she can do the tripod pose for short spurts, and she loves to sit up while holding onto one of our fingers (or two) for balance.
After her official weigh-in at the doc's office and a home estimate beforehand, we're going with 15 lbs even as her weight for this month. Big girl!

She is so pretty, like a little doll! She was in the swing in Will's room at day care the other day when I picked him up. She was all swaddled up and just looking around the room, wide awake. She was the only quiet one in the room too, Zach was crying, JT was fussing, Spencer and Will were whining and Camille was asleep.
