We've been in the triple digits here for a few days. This morning, at 11am, the heat index was already 111. Yeah, this is the time of year when Mississippi kinda sucks. We had planned to beat the heat this afternoon with Cora's inaugural trip to the city pool, to introduce her to deep water before lessons start tomorrow, but they were closed for a swim meet. So instead we met up with the Kennedys at the freshly reopened splash park downtown (it had been closed while the river was above flood stage). James loved it, of course. Particularly the corner spout. Cora was more interested in monkey-crawling away from all the commotion (it was pretty busy down there).

Love the look on Cora's face in the top picture. She is giving you the "C'mon Mom" look maybe related to the camera, maybe related to the 111 heat index.
