Well, week 1 is in the books. As you can see, as CRAZY as Day 1 was, the number of accidents James had per day decreased dramatically throughout the week. He's happy, we're happy, and his daycare teacher is happy. Day 5 was definitely the start of some regressing (trying to get his diapers back, but we didn't give up or give in), but we may be past that already. NO idea why he's wetting the bed at night all of a sudden (he really had been dry in the morning for the past 2 weeks, even before we started potty training), but hopefully that will go back to normal again soon. He knows how to hold it and he knows how to let it out. Today he even went pee pee in a public potty (twice at the grocery store, then again at our office when we stopped by on the way home). We just brought his little seat cover with us, and I did the usual (new) routine of turning on the water and walking away to give him his space. He certainly doesn't have it down to second nature yet though... He didn't wet the bed last night, but he woke at 2am obviously needing to pee, and only made it as far as his bedroom door before he had an accident (he came looking for Jay at that point). And he wet the bed at naptime today (and pooped his undies). Then, even after numerous successful trips to the potty this afternoon, he peed on the kitchen floor while company was over. I blame myself for that one though, since I was not paying close enough attention. It has, after all, only been a week. He still needs a LOT of reminding and forced potty breaks to avoid accidents. I bet tomorrow will be better though. We spent a lot of time reading the "Once Upon a Potty" and "Everyone Poops" books today. He loves opening to the page where the boy has pooped and peed NEXT to his potty, saying "Uh oh! Yucky! *blech* Yucky! No no no no! Pee pee IN da potty!", then flipping to the page showing poop IN the potty, saying "Pee pee in potty! Good job boy!"

Since peeing in public turned out to go just fine today, our next big hurdle is figuring out how to get him pooping on the potty. He's either scared to do it, or he doesn't know how (since he poops standing up). I'm not stressed though. I know he'll get it. We're extremely proud of him! He's come a LONG way this week, and we have survived it!
