December kicked off today with our town's annual Christmas Parade. The theme this year was "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and most floats were adorned with Snoopy's house and/or the classic Charlie Brown Christmas tree, with their participators dressed as the various comic characters. It was pretty cute. Jay even helped construct the float for our school (SO awesome that he has more time for fun activities now that his school career is winding to a close):

We met up with the Kennedy and Sanchez families for the curbside festivities and the kids really enjoyed hanging out with Will and Manu (and Lauren and Leo, though they spent the majority of the parade tucked safely into baby carriers).
Our kids were (of course) the wild ones, repeatedly running into the street and dancing and screaming. They loved waving at all the people and wishing them Merry Christmas. Unfortunately, I had told the kids on the way to the parade that the people would be throwing candy (since they usually do!), but it didn't happen and James asked me at least 20 times "Mommy, where's all the candy? How come they aren't throwing candy?" while Cora often stood with her hand out just waiting for somebody to toss her a treat. Oops. At least they got one piece (to share) that was tossed out by one of the last floats. At least mama wasn't a total liar.

I know I say this every year, but man are the holidays ever fun with little kids! James and Cora are totally into it this year (except for talking to Santa, of course...) and their enthusiasm is more than a little contagious! Happy December folks!
