VISITING THE SANTA TRAIN

Every other year the Kansas City Southern Holiday Express makes a stop in Vicksburg. Two years ago Cora was way too little to do anything but stare at the lights. This year both kids were super excited (they even stood in line for 30 minutes without argument!), and we made a fun family evening out of it (playing on the cabooses at the depot, walking down to the very low water line of the Yazoo River, and hanging out with our buddies).

Checking out the train from up on the hill:
Excitedly waiting in line for our turn to tour the train:
Getting a good look at all the model trains and mini cities (totally worth the long wait and hurried tour for the looks of joy on the kids' faces when they finally had their turn to get on the train):
My loves in front of "Rudy" the engine:
We met up with our buddies again tonight, and attempted to get a group photo, but the big boys were way too distracted by the pretty lights and the larger model train circling the reindeer to look at the camera:
But wait! Christina actually got one with both our kids looking at the camera AND smiling! Next year we'll just hire her to do our family portraits!!

This makes me so excited for when they come back! Glad you guys were able to get on the train without waiting too long!
