MEMORIAL WALK

The kids had school today (though we were off work), but when we picked them up we surprised them with Buster in the car, Red Vines to snack on, and a trip to the military park to celebrate Veterans Day.
Catching ladybugs (they're always all over the monuments this time of year)
Stopping by the surrender site and showing the kids the bamboo forest
James found a big ol' toad (but never could catch him!)
Buster was exhausted after our 1.5 mile walk (he's a fat dog these days...)

Funny that Buster is still green! Where exactly is that bamboo forest?

At the top of the Louisiana hill... just before you'd turn right on the dirt/gravel road to go past the Illinois Memorial, take a left into the bushes and the bamboo forest is right there - there's a path that goes through it (a very short trail) that takes you outside the park and drops you onto MLK Jr Blvd.
