One of the gifts Cora received for Christmas from us was a Quercetti Fantacolor Junior. Both kids went absolutely crazy for it (and still play with it at least twice/week), so we sent one to Addy for her 2nd birthday and looked ahead to find a more age appropriate version for James. We came across the Quercetti Fantacolor Portable, made for ages 4+, and decided to get it for James' 4th birthday. We kinda freaked out when he opened it and we realized how many tiny pieces it had, but James has been even more interested in it than in Cora's set. It takes a lot more supervision and guidance on our part than the junior version, but we've been really impressed with his patience and perseverance, and it's been great fine motor skill practice for him, as well as learning to follow longer directions (for instance, us telling him to line up a green, then a blue, then a yellow, then a blue). I'm not sure how long this knight took him exactly, since he worked on it for 10-20 minutes here and there over the past week, but I can tell you he was beyond proud to finish that shield tonight and pose for a photo with his first completed picture. Next up, the train...
(Cora also owns the Quercetti Geokid Daisy set that is made for infants/toddlers... This company is definitely one of our favorites for educational and fun, lasting toys for kids!)
