James received his very own fishing pole as a birthday present from the Jungs, and he is beyond pleased with it (and it's a SPIDERMAN pole, which sweetened the deal for sure). He has asked every single day since receiving it to go fishing or "practice fishing", since the pole came with a weighted practice fish. Jay has been practicing with him in the backyard (in our little water feature pond), as well as random places where they come across water (like the lake near his soccer field, pictured above). He's actually really good at reeling and releasing, and his aim is better than mine. He's been working on casting further and further, and gets SO PROUD when it goes a long distance. I foresee many days of father-son fishing trips in our future... and perhaps next time Pawpaw comes to visit, all the boys can go out for an afternoon fishing adventure!
