SUMMER SPLASHERS

A quick frozen treat purchased at the "new" Riverfront Marketplace (a sort of antique / thrift shop / local artistan products type store that also sells snacks and drinks, which we ventured into for the first time today despite it being there for many months, mostly because mama needed a cold beverage but also to satisfy my curiosity - locals, turns out this is not a great place to take small children for fear of them knocking over fragile/expensive items from precarious perches...) before meeting Will and Lauren at Catfish Row to run around the playground AND splash pad (per the kids' request).
The boys were "Not letting (her) play with them!" (i.e. running faster than her and away from her, and also calling her the noodle/spaghetti monster for some reason?), so Christina and I told her to play with Lauren instead. These girls are just over 2 years apart in age (June 2010 and July 2012), and now that Lauren is old enough to run and talk (and copycat!), their friendship is blossoming. Mind you, Cora has always loved "Baby Lauren", but as far as playmates at her level, she's usually surrounded by boys (except when we get together with the Hancocks or Hollingsworths, of course, but we don't get to do that nearly often enough!) It was pretty cute watching them run in circles holding hands and giggling!
Always on the move... and always making new friends (not pictured because, well, I didn't know her or her parents). We think he gets his social butterfly wings from his Gramma ;-)
Here's a shot where you can see all 4 kiddos (James is in the back left and Will is in the back right)
