I haven't been down to our ravine in years. Literally. So when Jay needed some help taking photos for a school project (soil profile, in case you're wondering) during naptime this afternoon, I was actually kinda excited to go down there and check it out. There are definitely more trees down in the water and deeper/steeper walls than I remember. It's pretty cool down there (literally, today, since the temp was in the 30s).
On the way back up to the house, I scoped a great spot for "yard camping" with the kids. Not sure when we'll take them camping for the first time, but doing so with the comfort of having the house up the hill (out of sight though!) if a hasty retreat is needed is quite tempting...
