ALL ABOUT CORA: 4-MONTHS-OLD

Cora is already a third of the way through her first year, and she's showing her age...She now laughs and squeals and really interacts with us and grabs her toys and holds them tight and chews on anything she can get in her mouth and consistently sleeps 7-11 hours at a stretch and rolls from her tummy to her back and actually enjoys tummy time (for short stretches) and can sit well when propped on or in something and can do a sit-up with minimal assistance from us and tries to get into a sitting position all by herself when we lean her against the couch and blows awesome raspberries and drools like crazy while making bubbles and is starting to babble (just a little). Whoa. (Like the bunny tail? We thought these PJs from her Grambot were so cute that we sent her to daycare in them.)

But some things haven't changed. She still requires swaddling to sleep, and/or the swing for naps. She still wants to be held above all other activities, and she's still particular about being held either facing out at the world or up high on your shoulder (unfortunately, our baby doll is just not a cuddler - not yet, anyway). She still nurses 6-7 times/day (some nights waking for the 3am feed, other nights sleeping right on through until morning), and still sort-of cluster feeds most evenings from 6-7:30pm (blurring those 5th and 6th feeds together). And she still screams for sleep when she's ready. Long live the Queen!

As for the monthly stats, her estimated weight this morning was 13.5 lbs. Not up a whole lot from last month, so maybe I was correct in guessing that although she packed on weight quickly in the beginning, she'd also taper off sooner. Or maybe it's just due to her sleeping more and eating less at night? Who knows? She's happy and satiated, so I'm not concerned.
