ZOO WALK

Columbus Day being a federal holiday meant a 3-day weekend for the Lindsays. We had to split up for the day though... Jay needed to complete an assignment and do some reading for school, so Jean and I took the kiddos to the zoo so he'd have peace and quiet. We left a tad bit later than planned, but made it to the zoo by 10:30am. We were there for 4 whole hours, during which time Cora took 3 little naps and James took none. The boy had energy to spare. He walked on his own almost the entire time, only being carried long enough to get better looks at the animals, and sitting in the stroller on the boardwalk. Since my camera battery AND backup battery were sadly dead, we had to get by with cellphone photos. The real bummer is that we weren't able to get video of James imitating the elephants though. James checking out the zebras:The elephants were busy taking dust baths. And no, I am not holding a ghost. Cora's bald head is still way too small for her sun hat, so I draped her muslin blanket over her head while she was in the carrier in the unshaded portions of the zoo. Again, James wanted to get down, and act like an elephant, so he refused to smile for the camera (er, cellphone):And to end the day, Cora surprised us with a lovely blow-out in the carseat. The first (and hopefully last) ever. Stupid paper diapers. Luckily the infant insert was overdue to be removed anyway, and that was the only part that got dirty. She was SO happy to be nekkid...
