SUNDAY SWIMMING

We're definitely getting our money's worth from the YMCA this summer: 4 days/week at the main complex to workout, then swim or soak in the hot tub, and 2+ days/week at the outdoor pool for splashing and swimming. We discovered today that Cora is quickly turning into a fish and will likely teach herself to swim soon. She has no fear, and will quickly jump off the side into our waiting arms and do her best to swim away back to the wall by herself (we have to hold on tight to keep her from getting away from us). Both kids are strong enough to pull themselves up and out from the side of the pool (excellent!), and both are able to float (though they don't like to practice it). We also found out today that James is much more comfortable in the water when he has some type of flotation device (life jacket, water wings, pool ring, all borrowed from Manu) so we can actually keep him off the steps longer than 2 minutes at a time, and Cora is much less likely to faceplant and suck water when wearing water rings, so we're planning to get them each a Puddle Jumper (supposedly easier for kids to swim around in than life jackets, yet more stable than water wings). We have LOTS of summer days left, so we know they'll be worth the expense (plus they fit to 50 lbs, so if James needs his next summer too, he'll be set)!

So did the dino parade...
Swimming makes them famished. "Squeezie Fruits" make them super happy. And there are hidden veggies in there...
