We've known about Home Depot's once per month free kid craft for ages, but somehow we always either forget about it or we're busy that Saturday and can't make it. We planned ahead this time though, and since it was such a success, we'll make better efforts to continue to make it in the future! Today's craft was a 'Rio' inspired bird feeder/bath. The kids got to work with nailing pieces of wood together, painting, and screwing on the hanging hooks. Good lessons all around, and nobody smashed their fingers (too badly, anyway).

| They received certificates of completion and a pin for their apron. Apparently they get a new pin every time they attend one of the kid crafts, so we'll have to remember to take our aprons with us each time. (P.S. I know her hair looks crazy, but she really wanted to wear a "ponytail and headband like mommy does when she runs", and this is the best I could do. It looked better before we left the house though, I swear!) |
