...not quite the same as a chicken tractor!
Since I haven't mentioned it here yet, the second night after we moved the chickens to their newly completed coop, we had a dog digging incident. Luckily, Jay had gone out to check on the chickens at the exact right time (moments before the dogs broke through the chicken wire, buried 1.5ft deep, underneath the sleeping pile of dumb-as-bricks chickens). As such, the chickens have moved BACK into the sunroom in the dog crate. The photo above shows James taking the chickens to and from the coop over the weekend so they could get some (supervised) fresh air (and we could clean the sunroom - a now daily occurrence because they just stink SO BAD). We've ordered an electric fence, reinforced with hardware cloth, and have a load of gravel on the way (which we'll lay over the top of brick pavers around the perimeter of the coop). These "pets" have become quite the time-consuming and expensive project, but hopefully once they're outside in Fort Lindsay, it will get easier. They're still adorable. Especially Chester. You should hear his crow these days...
