There are all sorts of flying creatures in the air around here now that summer has truly arrived... lightening bugs, mosquitoes, birds, butterflies, moths, the dreaded carpenter bees (don't worry, we purachased fail-proof traps to get rid of them once and for all this year!), etc. Jay came back from the corner store with this gorgeous white and black moth (seriously, who drives home with a moth on their finger?...) to show the kids and they were quite impressed.
Later in the day we also saw a big Luna moth (but it was on the second story, so we couldn't get to it for a kid-holding photo op) and a cicada (but their creepy red eyes tell me to turn away, not grab the camera).
