STANLEY CRAWFISH BOIL 2014

Our attempt at the annual Mother's Day photo... too much sun...
Hiding from the dogs at the beginning of the party. Who does she think she's kidding? She's not really scared...
Checking out the first batch of critters, pre-boil!
Nick, Jay (ALWAYS talking and gesturing at parties...), Sandy, and her boyfriend Barrett - good company!
Cookies are an acceptable dinner. At parties, anyway...
Selfie with my girl. She's into it.
Post rain storm mud puddle bliss...

Cora finally left the clean, dry safety of the house and ventured into the mud...
They turned the slide into a mud run...
Encouraging the kids to hose each other off...
...until they turned it on us adults, of course. Then we retreated and turned a blind eye!
Pleading his case for a turn at manning the nozzle...
Not even half as muddy as the other kids, yet still complaining about the mess. Mud is fun, until you're done. And you're cold. Then it's not...
Using crawfish platters as shields! Highly effective, actually...

At this point Cora wanted to completely undress. Luckily we stopped her after the shirt came off... nearly 4 might be a bit too old for full nudity in public, eh? That's what we told her, anyway.
He keeps recounting the story about getting this kids' ankles because "he wasn't doing the shield there, so I GOT HIM!"
Beautiful rainbow after the storm - the kids were extremely impressed!
