James received his very first Cub Scout Belt Loops tonight at the December Pack Meeting/Christmas Party for Pack 107 (which will soon become Pack 7, like their Boy Scout brethren).

Showing mama his Tiger Tracks and Tiger Bites belt loops, and his envelope of $14, which he earned as part of his prizes for selling $340 worth of popcorn back in October (HUGE thank you to those of you that helped him exceed his goal - there weren't many boys who made the $300 goal, so he felt pretty special!)

After the awards ceremony and Santa visit, we cut loose from the Scouts party to take Jay out to dinner for his birthday. I didn't take a single picture (since he opened his presents this morning before work and wasn't in the mood for photos) and didn't bake him a cake, but I scored him a slice of delicious sugared cranberry cake from my branch's Christmas/Dirty Santa Party and bought him a mojito at dinner, and some of his friends took him out to lunch (since he didn't want to spend his birthday at my work party).
We capped off our celebration tonight with fancy layered beers at home thanks to the cool beer tool that Robyn and Stephen sent. Next year calls for a much bigger celebration (the BIG 40!), but this year we kept it simple. Nothing wrong with simple sometimes ;-)
Jean got him a beautiful frame for his degree - now he can finally hang it up at work!
