OVER THE RIVER

We've lived here for 4 Over the River Run races, and today was the first time we attended. We decided to start simple, and signed up for the 1-mile Fun Run. While we waited for that to start, we thoroughly enjoyed watching the runners and walkers, including many of our friends. Next year, I plan to run the 5 miles, and Jay is considering walking it with the kids in a stroller. James thought it was funny that Mama and Daddy were yelling so loud, but he clapped along as we cheered for our friends (and all the people we didn't know, as well, because everyone competing in races deserves encouragement!)Meanwhile, Cora passed out and slept through the entire race...She woke up as we were standing in line to start the Fun Run, which we did with the kids on our backs. We ran some, we walked some, and we took the time to pose for a photo with our friends the Kennedy's, out on the middle of the bridge. It was really fun to be out there on foot, taking in the view. James was impressed. Cora liked it when I ran and she bounced along on my back.James refused to walk, but Cora did the last little bit (the uphill portion coming off the bridge), to the cheers of the few folks still hanging around. She was SO cute toddling up the hill!
